If you’ve ever played paintball, you’ve probably seen this work horse.. It is the king of the paintball world when it comes to bang for the buck and reliability. When you pull the trigger, this thing is going to fire.
This marker evolved from the legendary Model 98 and has evolved into the Platinum series.
This gun is an excellent platform for the player who is interested in customizing their gun as well as the beginner looking for a decent marker that they can use for years to come.
The 98C is an all aluminum, semi-automatic marker that can be powered by CO2, compressed air or nitrogen and supports a tank of virtually any size.
The number of accessories available to this gun is almost limitless. You can get a custom response trigger kit, an AR 15 style collapsible stock and choose from dozens of aftermarket barrels.
If it can be done to a paintball gun, it can probably be done to the 98.
The Tippmann is a little heavier than other models in it’s class, but this also helps it be one of the most durable markers available as well.
It’s also not the fastest shooter out of the box. It can easily be converted into a speedball gun, but you’ll need to make a few adjustments.
Tippmann paintball guns are the workhorse of the industry. You’ll typically find them used at rental facilities because they are extremely reliable and hold up to hours and hours of abuse.
If they can handle the abuse of random players, imagine how well they will perform when cared for and maintained by their original owner.
Talk to almost anyone who has played paintball for a reasonable amount of time and almost every one of them will have used a Tippmann paintball gun at one point or another.
Some of the leading players in the nation still carry a 98 Custom in their gear bag because they know when they pull the trigger, it’s going to work.
For the weekend warrior, this is the gun we highly recommend. It’s a very reasonably priced gun that is extremely reliable. When you happen to break something during the heat of battle, replacement parts are easy to come by and fairly inexpensive.
